The George Butterworth Young Scientist Award is awarded to young scholars who have made valuable contributions to the field of developmental psychology at an early stage of their career.
George Butterworth was one of the two founding fathers of the EADP and this award was established in his honor.
The Award is given during the European Conference on Developmental Psychology. The awardee will receive EUR 500. They will be offered the opportunity to present the research of the dissertation as an invited address at the Conference, and will be invited, and supported, to publish the invited address in the European Journal of Developmental Psychology.
